SEVENTEEN's S.Coups x Mingyu Talk 'HYPE VIBES' Mini Album: "This Is an Album That's Truly Us"
SEOUL, South Korea - SEVENTEEN's Hip-Hop Team members S.Coups and Mingyu sat down with Pledis Entertainment to discuss their latest mini album, "HYPE VIBES," released on March 22. The album marks the duo's first solo effort outside of the group's collective projects.
"This is an album that's truly us," Mingyu said in a statement. "We wanted to create something that reflected our individual styles and personalities while still maintaining the essence of SEVENTEEN."
S.Coups added, "As members of the Hip-Hop Team, we've always been encouraged to express ourselves freely and push the boundaries of what's possible with K-pop." The duo's collaborative effort resulted in a unique blend of genres, from hip-hop to electronic dance music.
SEVENTEEN's formation in 2015 marked a significant milestone for the group. Thirteen trainees, including S.Coups and Mingyu, trained together under Pledis Entertainment before debuting as a unified team. To ensure each member's individual charm could shine, they adopted a distinctive three-unit structure: the Vocal Team, Hip-Hop Team, and Performance Team.
The Hip-Hop Team, led by S.Coups and Mingyu, has been instrumental in shaping SEVENTEEN's sound and style. Their contributions to the group's music have earned them critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. "HYPE VIBES" serves as a testament to their creative growth and experimentation.
Industry experts praise SEVENTEEN for their dedication to teamwork and individuality. "SEVENTEEN's success is a result of their commitment to each other and their unique approach to K-pop," said a music critic. "Their ability to blend genres and styles has set them apart from other groups."
The release of "HYPE VIBES" comes as SEVENTEEN continues to break records in the K-pop scene. Their latest album, "Attacca," debuted at number one on Billboard's World Albums chart, solidifying their position as one of K-pop's most successful groups.
As S.Coups and Mingyu look to the future, they remain focused on pushing the boundaries of what's possible with K-pop. "We're excited to see where this new chapter takes us," Mingyu said. "We're grateful for our fans' support and can't wait to share more music with them."
With "HYPE VIBES" as a testament to their creativity and collaboration, S.Coups and Mingyu are poised to make waves in the K-pop scene once again.
