IEEE Day Celebrated Globally as Engineers Unite to Advance Technology for Humanity
October 1 marked the celebration of IEEE Day, a global event recognizing the contributions of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) members worldwide. The occasion commemorates the founding of IEEE on June 15, 1963.

The Institute has grown into the world's largest technical professional organization, boasting over 420,000 members in more than 160 countries. Its mission is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

The Institute's history dates back to 1884 when it was founded as the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE). Over the years, it merged with two other organizations – the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) – to form the modern IEEE.
