Google Tweaks Search Ads to Make Them More Prominent

The new layout features a maximum of four ads in each grouping, which can be hidden by clicking a button once scrolled past. A second "Sponsored results" section will also appear at the bottom of the page, requiring users to scroll through all sponsored content before hiding it.
Google's announcement noted that the AI-generated summary may appear above or below the sponsored tab, further increasing visibility for advertisers. The change is currently rolling out globally on mobile and desktop platforms.
"We're always looking for ways to improve our search results," said a Google spokesperson. "This new design helps users quickly identify and navigate through sponsored content."
