Breaking News: Manchester Synagogue Attacker Shot Multiple Times by Police
A 35-year-old man, identified as Jihad Al-Shamie, has been shot multiple times by police after launching a car and knife attack on a synagogue in Manchester's Crumpsall area. The incident occurred on October 2nd.
Al-Shamie, a Syrian-born UK citizen, was shot by armed police after running aggressively towards them while carrying a knife and wearing what appeared to be a suicide belt. Two men, Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, were killed in the attack, while three others were hospitalized.
The attack happened at Heaton Park synagogue, where Al-Shamie's car crashed before he exited and began his assault. Police responded quickly, shooting Al-Shamie multiple times. He later died from his injuries.
The inquest into the attack has been opened at Manchester Coroner's Court, where details of the incident were revealed. The court heard that Al-Shamie was identified at the scene through fingerprints and other evidence.
