Breaking News: Louvre Jewellery Heist Masterminds Unmasked
Four individuals, three men and a woman, have been identified as the masterminds behind the brazen jewellery heist at the Louvre Museum in Paris last month. The group, all from the impoverished area of Seine-Saint-Denis, is accused of stealing jewels worth 88 million euros.
According to Paris's prosecutor, Laure Beccuau, the suspects are "clearly local people" with a history of petty crime. Two of the male suspects have multiple theft convictions and were known to the police.
The heist, which took place on October 19, targeted some of the world's most valuable and historic jewellery pieces, including the Marie-Louise necklace and a tiara worn by Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III.
The four suspects are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to determine the extent of their involvement. This is a significant development in the case, which has sent shockwaves through the art and museum communities.
This is a developing story, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
