Breaking News: Crime Network Exposed for Enabling Illegal Migrant Labor in UK Mini-Marts
A major crime network has been exposed for enabling migrants to work illegally in mini-marts across the UK. The investigation by the BBC has revealed that a Kurdish crime network is behind the scheme, with over 100 mini-marts, barbershops, and car washes linked to the network.
The network uses fake company directors to obtain official paperwork, allowing them to operate businesses without being involved in their day-to-day running. Two undercover reporters, posing as asylum seekers, were told how easy it would be to take over and run a shop, selling illegal vapes and cigarettes.
This crime network has been operating from Dundee to south Devon, with the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, stating that "illegal working and linked organised criminality creates an incentive for people to come here illegally. We will not stand for it."
The BBC investigation has sparked concerns about the scale of the problem, with a financial crime investigator suggesting that the network may be much wider than initially thought.
This is a developing story, with further investigations and potential law enforcement actions expected in the coming days. The BBC will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
