Breaking News: US Congress Panel Demands Andrew's Immediate Testimony Amid Ongoing Tech Probe
A US Congress panel has demanded that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the Duke of York, appear for questioning over his links to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. The House Oversight Committee, led by Congressman Robert Garcia, has written to Andrew requesting a "transcribed interview" at Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park.
The committee is seeking information on Epstein's network and associates, citing their "longstanding" friendship with Andrew. The panel does not have the power to compel Andrew's testimony, but intends to ask questions related to Epstein's criminal operations.
Andrew's links to Epstein have been under scrutiny since the financier's death in 2019. The Duke of York has faced criticism for his association with Epstein, who was convicted of sex trafficking minors. King Charles III stripped Andrew of his HRH style and prince title earlier this year.
The letter, signed by 16 Democrats, was sent to Andrew after his removal from royal duties. The committee is seeking to uncover the identities of Epstein's co-conspirators and enablers.
Andrew has yet to respond to the committee's request. This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
