Breaking News: Woman Critically Injured in Unprovoked Stabbing in Birmingham
A woman in her 30s is in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck in an unprovoked attack in Birmingham city centre. The incident occurred on Smallbrook Queensway, just outside the Bullring shopping centre and opposite New Street railway station, at around 21:00 GMT on Friday.
The woman suffered a serious neck injury and is currently receiving treatment in hospital. A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
The attack took place in a busy part of the city centre, near to New Street station, and police are currently carrying out inquiries near the scene. A police tent remains on the pavement, just outside the shopping centre.
