Breaking News: Russian Drone Strikes Kyiv, Four Killed in Devastating Apartment Block Attack
At least four people have been killed and several others injured in a Russian drone strike on a block of flats in eastern Kyiv. The attack occurred during a wave of strikes across the Ukrainian capital, with President Volodymyr Zelensky condemning the attacks as "vile and calculated".
The drone struck the apartment block in the Lisovyi area, piercing the building and exploding on the other side. Emergency workers are currently sifting through the wreckage. A Kyiv resident, Vita, witnessed the attack, saying "I saw it with my own eyes".
The strikes also targeted several other regions, including a market in Chornomorsk in the south of the country, where two people were killed. Ukrainian forces launched a counterattack on the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk overnight, hitting the major Sheskharis oil refinery and causing a fire.
The immediate impact of the attacks is being assessed, with emergency services working to respond to the damage. President Zelensky has vowed to hold those responsible accountable.
This is a developing story, with further updates expected as more information becomes available.
