Breaking News: Multiple Fatalities Reported in County Louth Crash
At least five young people have died and three others are injured in a devastating two-car crash in County Louth, Ireland. The incident occurred on the Ardee Road at Gibstown near Dundalk just after 21:00 local time on Saturday.
Five occupants of a Volkswagen Golf, three males and two females all in their early 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were travelling in the Volkswagen Golf when it collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Gardaí, the Irish police, are investigating the circumstances of the crash. Speaking at the scene, Supt Charlie Armstrong said gardaí are working to determine the cause of the collision.
The vehicles and bodies of the deceased remain at the scene as gardaí continue their investigation. The injured parties are receiving medical attention.
