Breaking News: Doctor Charged with Sexually Assaulting 38 Patients in West Midlands
A 38-year-old doctor, Nathaniel Spencer, has been charged with 38 counts of sexual assault against patients at two major hospitals in the West Midlands. The charges include 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of assault by penetration, and nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
Spencer, of Quinton, Birmingham, is accused of committing the alleged offences against 38 patients at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley between 2017 and 2021. He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on January 20, 2026.
Spencer worked at the Royal Stoke University Hospital between August 2017 and August 2020. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that the decision to prosecute followed a "detailed and complex investigation."
