Breaking News: Man Arrested After Pepper Spray Attack at Heathrow Airport
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a group of people were sprayed with pepper spray at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 car park. The incident occurred at 08:11 GMT.
Twenty-one people were treated for injuries, with five taken to hospital. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the incident was isolated and not related to terrorism or protests.
Eyewitness Tom Bate described the scene, saying he saw "young men dressed in black darting through the crowd" before people started coughing and experiencing burning sensations.
The car park was closed following the incident, but reopened by 11:30 GMT. Trains were also delayed earlier in the day.
Police are searching for other suspects in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
