Breaking News: Storm Bram Brings Catastrophic Rain and Winds to UK
Storm Bram, a powerful storm system, is forecast to hit the United Kingdom on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing severe weather warnings and catastrophic rain and winds. The Met Office has issued amber warnings for strong winds, particularly in north-west Scotland, where gusts of up to 90mph are possible.
Heavy rain is expected to lead to localised flooding in Wales and south-west England, where ground conditions are already saturated from recent rainfall. The strongest winds will be felt around Irish Sea coasts and in the north-west of Scotland, with severe gales possible later on Tuesday.
Storm Bram is named by Met Eireann, Ireland's equivalent of the Met Office, and is expected to develop rapidly on Tuesday, moving north to the west of the UK. The Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind, valid from 16:00 to 23:59 BST Tuesday, covering north-west Scotland.
Transport disruption and damage are possible as a result of the severe weather. The Met Office advises people to stay informed and follow the latest updates.
This is a developing story, and we will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
