Breaking News: Storm Bram Brings Flooding and Travel Chaos to UK
Storm Bram has brought severe flooding and travel disruption to large parts of the UK, with thousands left without power. The storm made landfall on Tuesday, causing widespread damage and disruption.
As of 20:00 GMT, there are 60 flood warnings in place across the UK, with 30 in England, 17 in Wales, and 13 in Scotland. Trains, flights, and ferries have been cancelled, and residents are advised to stay indoors.
The storm has brought exceptionally mild air, with temperatures reaching as high as 16C (60F) in some regions, significantly higher than the December average of 5-9C. Strong winds of up to 90mph (145 kmh) are expected in north-west Scotland, prompting a fresh amber warning for wind.
In Scotland, yellow warnings for wind have been issued for the rest of the country, while Northern Ireland, Wales, and parts of England are also under yellow warnings. Residents are advised to check the latest weather forecast and follow local advice.
