Breaking News: Thieves Strike Bristol Museum, Steal Hundreds of High-Value Items
Four men have stolen over 600 artefacts of significant cultural value from Bristol Museum's archive in a high-value raid. The theft occurred in the early hours of September 25 in the Cumberland Basin area of the city.
The stolen items belong to the museum's British Empire and Commonwealth collection, many of which were donations. The loss of these artefacts is a significant blow to the city, providing a glimpse into a multi-layered part of British history.
Avon and Somerset Police are leading the investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and conducting forensic investigations. Detectives are trying to identify four males captured on CCTV, described as white, wearing jackets and baseball caps.
The police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may aid in the recovery of the stolen items and the apprehension of those responsible. This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
