Breaking News: Person of Interest Detained in Brown University Shooting Investigation
A person of interest has been detained in connection with a shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, that left two students dead and nine others injured. The incident occurred on Saturday at around 16:00 local time (21:00 GMT) in a classroom at the Holley engineering building.
The shooting has had a devastating impact, with one person in critical condition and six others described as "critical but stable." Two others are less severely hurt. Brown University President Christina Paxson confirmed that all victims, including those killed and wounded, were students.
Police had released CCTV footage of a male suspect wearing all black clothing walking away from the scene. Authorities had earlier ordered people on the Brown campus and surrounding areas to shelter, but this order has now been lifted.
