Plasma Thrusters Could Be Key to Tackling Space Debris
A new potential solution to the dangers of Kessler Syndrome has emerged with the development of a fusion-reactor-inspired thruster that could deorbit space junk. According to Tomaswick's concept, the MN rf plasma thruster would use two opposing plasma plumes to exert a deceleration force on debris, effectively slowing it down and allowing it to re-enter Earth's atmosphere.
