James Bond Game "007 First Light" Delayed Until May 2026
The upcoming James Bond video game, "007 First Light," has been delayed until May 27, 2026, developer IO Interactive announced. The title, initially slated for release on March 27, will now be available two months later.
The delay marks a setback for fans eager to experience a new Bond game after a 14-year absence since 2012's "007 Legends." According to IO Interactive, the game is "fully playable from beginning to end," but the additional time will be used to "further polish" the title.
"007 First Light" aims to reimagine Bond's origin story. While one source indicated Dexter Origi as the star, another reported Patrick Gibson as the lead. IO Interactive, also known for the Hitman series, is developing the game in association with Delphi Interactive, which is also working on the upcoming Fifa game set to be released on Netflix before the 2026 World Cup.
The delay has left fans "shaken, not stirred," according to one source, as anticipation builds for Bond's return to gaming. The developers hope "007 First Light" will surpass the legacy of classic Bond games like "GoldenEye 007."
