Eurostar Services Return to Normal After Major Channel Tunnel Disruption

Eurostar and Le Shuttle services between the UK and France resumed on Wednesday morning after a day of major travel disruption, according to Eurostar. Thousands of passengers experienced hours of delays on Tuesday after Eurostar cancelled most of its London to Europe services due to an overhead power supply problem and a failed Le Shuttle train that blocked all routes through the Channel Tunnel.

Repair work occurred overnight, allowing rail services to resume in both directions. However, Eurostar urged passengers to check for possible knock-on delays and last-minute cancellations. Most of Eurostar's Wednesday morning services in and out of London were running, but the company warned of potential disruptions.

The disruptions were caused by an overhead power supply problem and a failed Le Shuttle train, according to multiple news sources. The failed train blocked all routes through the Channel Tunnel, exacerbating the impact of the power issue.

Eurostar is offering compensation for the inconvenience caused by the delays. The company is also running an extra London to Paris service to help clear the backlog of passengers. While Le Shuttle services are mostly operating normally, delays persisted in Calais, according to reports.
