Bottled water sold at Waitrose is being recalled due to the possible presence of glass fragments, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned. The recall affects the 750ml No1 Royal Deeside Mineral Water and its sparkling counterpart.

The FSA stated that the potential presence of glass fragments upon opening the bottles "may cause injury and makes it unsafe to drink." The agency advised consumers who have purchased the affected products not to consume them.

Waitrose issued an apology and stated that it was recalling "some" bottles as a precautionary measure. The supermarket is urging customers to return the bottles to Waitrose stores or contact the company for a full refund. Notices will be displayed in Waitrose shops to inform customers about the recall, according to the FSA.

Royal Deeside water is sourced from natural springs in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. The company produces special batches for Waitrose, which are the subject of this recall. Each bottle retails for approximately £1.60 at Waitrose stores.
