Bottled water sold at Waitrose is being recalled due to the possible presence of glass fragments, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned. The recall affects the 750ml No1 Royal Deeside Mineral Water and its sparkling counterpart.

The FSA stated that the potential glass fragments upon opening the bottles "may cause injury and makes it unsafe to drink." Waitrose issued an apology and stated it was recalling "some" bottles as a precautionary measure.

Customers are being asked by the supermarket not to consume the affected bottles and to return them to Waitrose for a full refund, or to contact the company directly. The FSA issued a recall notice advising consumers who have purchased the products not to drink them. Notices will be displayed in Waitrose stores to inform customers about the recall.

Royal Deeside water is sourced from natural springs in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. The company produces specific batches for Waitrose, which are the subject of the recall. Each bottle retails for approximately £1.60 at Waitrose stores.
