Marvel Studios ushered in the new year with the release of a trailer for its upcoming miniseries, "Wonder Man," which is slated to premiere later this month on Disney. The eight-episode series is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Phase Six.
"Wonder Man" was created by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Five Rings," and Andrew Guest, who also served as showrunner and previously worked on "Hawkeye," according to Ars Technica. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, an actor and stunt person with actual superpowers.
The plot revolves around Williams auditioning for the lead role in a superhero TV series, a reboot of a previous Wonder Man character. Demetrius Grosse plays Simon's brother, Eric, also known as Grim Reaper, and Ed Harris also stars in the series.
Meanwhile, as documented in various news sources, people around the world celebrated the arrival of 2026 with dazzling displays of fireworks, light shows, and traditional gatherings. Cities from Sydney to Seoul and Bangkok to Amsterdam welcomed the new year with shared joy and cultural traditions, according to NPR Politics.
