Marvel Studios ushered in the new year by releasing a trailer for its upcoming Disney+ miniseries, "Wonder Man," as people around the world celebrated the arrival of 2026. The eight-episode miniseries, part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is slated to premiere later this month, according to Ars Technica.
The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, an actor and stunt person with actual superpowers. The plot revolves around Williams auditioning for the lead role in a superhero TV series, a reboot of an earlier Wonder Man incarnation.
"Wonder Man" was created by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," and Andrew Guest, who previously worked on "Hawkeye." Guest also serves as the showrunner for the miniseries.
The trailer also revealed the return of Ben Kingsley to the MCU, as reported by multiple news sources. Demetrius Grosse plays Simon's brother, Eric, also known as Grim Reaper, and Ed Harris also stars in the series.
