Hardware maker Plaud announced a new AI notetaker, the Plaud NotePin S, and a desktop application for meeting notes, ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The NotePin S, priced at $179, features a physical button for starting, stopping, and highlighting recordings, similar to the recently released Plaud Note Pro.

The new pin includes a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband, offering users multiple wearing options. Plaud is also incorporating Apple Find My support, enabling users to locate the device if misplaced. The device retains the core specifications of its predecessor, including 64GB of onboard storage and a 20-hour battery life for continuous recording. Its two MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) microphones can capture audio clearly within a 9.8-foot range. Users receive 300 minutes of transcription per month.

Plaud first launched its pin-styled notetaker in 2024. The company aims to provide accessible and efficient note-taking solutions through AI-powered hardware and software. The desktop application is designed to streamline note-taking during digital meetings, addressing the increasing need for efficient information capture in remote work environments.
