A drone strike killed at least 13 people, including eight children, in el-Obeid, Sudan. The Sudan Doctors' Network reported the attack on a house in a residential neighborhood on Monday. Medics accuse the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out the strike. The RSF has not yet responded to the accusation. Most of the victims belonged to the same family. El-Obeid is in an area controlled by the Sudanese army, which the RSF has been trying to enter for months. The civil war between Sudan's army and the RSF is nearing its third year. The UN and aid agencies describe the conflict as the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Over 11 million people have been displaced. Hundreds of thousands are estimated to have died. Widespread sexual violence is also reported as a weapon of war. Both the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces face accusations of atrocities. The international community is likely to condemn the attack and call for renewed ceasefire efforts.
