AMC unveiled clips from its upcoming TV series, "The Audacity," at CES 2026, offering a glimpse into the world of Silicon Valley and its impact on modern society. Created by Jonathan Glatzer, known for his work on shows like "Succession," "Better Call Saul," and "Bloodline," the series aims to explore the lives of the individuals shaping technology and its pervasive influence.
Dan McDermott, chief content officer at AMC Networks and president of AMC Studios, emphasized the importance of examining Silicon Valley's role in contemporary life during the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES. "They're literally laying the cement on the freeway that we're all driving down with things like AI, data collection, social media, etc.," McDermott stated. "And there couldn't be any more important group, in my opinion, to be taking a deep-dive look at than the men and women in Silicon Valley who are shaping the lives that we live."
"The Audacity" features a cast including Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry. Magnussen highlighted the significance of Silicon Valley as a defining force in the modern era. "Silicon Valley is one of those times in our modern era which is defining humanity," he said. "And what better place to make a dark comedy than in that place that develops our society at this point?"
The show distinguishes itself by creating a fictional universe, avoiding the use of real company names or portrayals of prominent tech figures. This approach allows for a broader exploration of themes and narratives within the tech industry without being tied to specific real-world events or personalities. The decision to set the series in a fictionalized version of Silicon Valley provides creative freedom while still addressing relevant issues.
"The Audacity" is expected to appeal to audiences interested in the cultural impact of technology and the lives of those who drive its development. The series is currently in production, with a premiere date yet to be announced.
