AMC unveiled clips of its upcoming TV series, "The Audacity," at CES 2026, offering a glimpse into the world of Silicon Valley. Created by Jonathan Glatzer, known for his work on shows like "Succession," "Better Call Saul," and "Bloodline," the series aims to explore the profound influence of Silicon Valley on contemporary society.
Dan McDermott, chief content officer at AMC Networks and president of AMC Studios, emphasized the importance of examining the tech industry's impact. Speaking at the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES, McDermott stated, "They're literally laying the cement on the freeway that we're all driving down with things like AI, data collection, social media, etc. And there couldn't be any more important group, in my opinion, to be taking a deep-dive look at than the men and women in Silicon Valley who are shaping the lives that we live."
"The Audacity" features a star-studded cast, including Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry. Magnussen highlighted the significance of Silicon Valley in shaping modern life, noting, "Silicon Valley is one of those times in our modern era which is defining humanity. And what better place to make a dark comedy than in that place that develops our society at this point?"
The show distinguishes itself by taking place in a fictional universe, avoiding the use of real company names or portrayals of high-profile tech figures. This approach allows for a broader exploration of the themes and issues prevalent in the tech industry without being tied to specific events or personalities.
The series is expected to resonate with audiences interested in the cultural and societal impact of technology. By presenting a fictionalized yet relatable portrayal of Silicon Valley, "The Audacity" aims to spark conversations about the ethical considerations and potential consequences of technological advancements. The show's dark comedy approach also offers a unique lens through which to examine the often-complex and rapidly evolving world of tech.
AMC has not yet announced a specific release date for "The Audacity," but anticipation is building following the preview at CES. Industry insiders suggest the show could premiere in late 2026, potentially becoming a flagship series for the network.
