Fujitsu CEO Defends Profits Amid Horizon Scandal Inquiry
Fujitsu defended its continued receipt of £500 million in government contract extensions amidst the Horizon scandal, refuting claims of being a "parasite." While the company will not bid for new business, its European CEO declined to specify Fujitsu's financial contribution to the £1.8 billion redress scheme for victims, despite acknowledging a "moral obligation" two years prior. The scandal, involving faulty Fujitsu software, led to the wrongful prosecution of over 900 sub-postmasters and is considered a major miscarriage of justice.
