One notable trend involved attacks targeting third-party integrations with major platforms. Google's Threat Intelligence Group reported in August that data was compromised through breaches of Salesforce contractor integrations, including Gainsight and Salesloft. The attackers successfully accessed data from the sales management giant Salesforce, although Salesforce itself was not directly compromised. Google Workspace data was also affected through the breach of Salesloft Drift, a sales and marketing platform. While not a direct hack of Google Workspace, the incident highlighted the vulnerabilities present in interconnected digital ecosystems.
