Pebble is set to release the Pebble Round 2, a refreshed version of its thinnest smartwatch, following the launch of its revived smartwatch line and a budget-friendly AI smart ring. The Pebble Round 2, priced at $199, features a rounded screen designed to offer a more refined aesthetic while maintaining affordability, a hallmark of Pebble devices.
The new smartwatch focuses on essential health and activity tracking, including step counting and sleep monitoring. Pebble opted to exclude a heart rate monitor and other advanced features typically found in fitness-oriented smartwatches to extend battery life, which is projected to last between 10 and 14 days on a single charge.
The Pebble Round 2 is a reboot of the Pebble Time Round, originally launched in 2015. The company had touted the original as the thinnest smartwatch on the market. The new version retains a slim profile, measuring 8.1mm in thickness, a slight increase from the original's 7.5mm. By focusing on core functionalities and foregoing more complex features, Pebble aims to provide a user-friendly experience at a competitive price point. The company has not yet announced an exact release date.
