Marvel Rings in 2026 with "Wonder Man" Trailer
Marvel Studios ushered in the new year by releasing a trailer for its upcoming "Wonder Man" miniseries on Disney+, as reported by multiple news sources. The eight-episode miniseries, part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is slated to premiere later this month.
The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, an actor and stunt person who possesses actual superpowers. According to Ars Technica, the plot centers on Williams auditioning for the lead role in a superhero TV series, described as a reboot of an earlier Wonder Man incarnation.
"Wonder Man" was created by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," and Andrew Guest, who previously worked on "Hawkeye." Guest also serves as the showrunner for the miniseries.
The cast includes Demetrius Grosse as Simon's brother, Eric, also known as Grim Reaper, and Ed Harris in an undisclosed role, according to Ars Technica. Ben Kingsley is also set to appear, reprising his role from previous MCU films, multiple news sources confirmed.
The release of the trailer coincided with New Year's celebrations worldwide, as people welcomed 2026 with traditional festivities, according to reports.
