Converge Bio, a startup utilizing generative artificial intelligence to accelerate drug development, has raised $25 million in an oversubscribed Series A round. Bessemer Venture Partners led the funding, with participation from TLV Partners, Saras Capital, Vintage Investment Partners, and unnamed executives from Meta, OpenAI, and Wiz. The Boston- and Tel Aviv-based company trains generative AI models on molecular data, including DNA, RNA, and protein sequences. These models are then integrated into pharmaceutical and biotech workflows to expedite various stages of drug development, from target identification and discovery to manufacturing and clinical trials.
"We are at an inflection point in drug discovery, where AI can truly transform how new medicines are created," said a spokesperson for Converge Bio. "This funding will allow us to expand our platform and partner with more companies to bring life-saving treatments to patients faster."
