Emergent, an Indian startup specializing in AI vibe-coding, has secured $70 million in a Series B funding round, valuing the company at $300 million post-money, according to sources familiar with the deal. The funding comes less than four months after the company closed a $23 million Series A round.
The Series B round was jointly led by SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2 and Khosla Ventures, with participation from Prosus, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Together, and Y Combinator. This latest investment brings Emergent's total funding to $100 million within seven months of its launch. A source told TechCrunch that the startup was previously valued at $100 million post-money.
Emergent's platform utilizes AI agents to assist users in designing, building, testing, and deploying full-stack web and mobile applications. This approach, known as vibe-coding, aims to simplify the development process, enabling entrepreneurs and small businesses to launch products without the need for extensive engineering teams.
The company reports $50 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and boasts over 5 million users across more than 190 countries. Emergent is targeting an ARR of over $100 million by April 2026.
Vibe-coding platforms are gaining traction as they offer a more accessible approach to software development. By automating many of the traditionally complex coding tasks, these platforms lower the barrier to entry for individuals and businesses with limited technical expertise.
Emergent aims to capitalize on the increasing demand for streamlined application development solutions, particularly in regions like the U.S., Europe, and India. The new funding will likely be used to expand its platform capabilities, scale its operations, and further penetrate key markets.
