Emergent, an Indian startup specializing in AI-driven vibe-coding, has secured $70 million in a Series B funding round, just under four months after closing a $23 million Series A. The investment, jointly led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Khosla Ventures, triples the company's valuation to $300 million post-money, according to sources familiar with the deal.
The round also saw participation from Prosus, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Together, and Y Combinator. This latest injection of capital brings Emergent's total funding to $100 million within seven months of its launch.
The funding announcement coincides with Emergent reporting $50 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and a user base exceeding 5 million across more than 190 countries. The company is projecting ARR to surpass $100 million by April 2026.
Vibe-coding platforms like Emergent leverage artificial intelligence to streamline the design, construction, testing, and deployment of full-stack web and mobile applications. These platforms are particularly aimed at entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking to launch products without the overhead of large engineering teams.
Emergent's platform utilizes AI agents to automate various stages of the development process, allowing users with limited coding experience to create and deploy applications more efficiently. This approach democratizes access to software development, enabling a wider range of individuals and businesses to participate in the digital economy.
The company stated that it is experiencing significant demand in key markets, including the U.S., Europe, and India. The new funding will be used to further expand its platform capabilities, scale its operations, and broaden its reach in these and other international markets.
