Two volunteers delivering bread died in Derhachi, Kharkiv region. A Russian drone struck their car. The attack occurred on Friday, January 23. At least seven people were injured in Dnipro after a drone hit a high-rise. One person died and four were wounded in Komyshuvakha, Zaporizhia region, due to glide bombs. Kryvyi Rih city, Dnipropetrovsk region, saw 12 injured, including four children, after a Russian attack. Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed to have shot down 31 Ukrainian drones. This occurred overnight and into early Thursday.
The attacks highlight the continued threat to civilian populations. Ukrainian officials condemned the strikes. They called for increased international support.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine began in 2014. It escalated significantly in February 2022. The war has resulted in widespread destruction and displacement.
Further attacks are anticipated. Humanitarian aid remains critical. International negotiations are ongoing, but a resolution is not yet in sight.
