In other news, Doug McMillon, Walmart's CEO, is set to retire at the end of this month after a 40-year career with the retail giant, Fortune reported. McMillon climbed the ranks from the warehouse to the C-suite of the $938 billion company.
Reflecting on his career, McMillon shared advice for Gen Z workers during a commencement address at the University of Arkansas in 2024. "Career-wise, the first thing I tell anyone who asks for guidance is to do today's job well, be present, drive change, deliver results, and do it the right way," McMillon said. He emphasized that "being present in today's role and earning trust leads to the next job opportunity." He also advised young people that "life is too short" to hate their jobs.
