'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' to Transition to One-Part Format in London
The London West End production of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will transition to a streamlined one-part format this fall, after a decade of performances as a two-part theatrical event, Variety reported on January 28, 2026. The reimagined version will open on October 1, 2026.
The play, based on a story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, follows Harry Potter's son Albus as he navigates his own journey at Hogwarts. The original two-part format allowed for a more in-depth exploration of the characters and plot. The change comes after a decade of performances in the two-part format.
