Apple to Absorb Rising RAM Costs, Keeping iPhone 18 Price Flat
Apple plans to absorb rising RAM prices to avoid increasing the price of the upcoming iPhone 18, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The decision comes amid a global memory shortage that is expected to drive up costs for manufacturers, according to a report from The Verge.
Kuo stated that Apple intends to maintain its current pricing strategy despite the increased expenses. This move aims to keep the iPhone 18 competitive in the market, even with the rising costs of components.
In other tech news, AMD continues to refine its Ryzen processors, maintaining its position as a top choice for gaming CPUs. Wired reported that the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D has been the best CPU for high-end gaming for at least the past year. While AMD's follow-up, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, is technically faster, the difference is negligible during actual gameplay, according to Wired.
