Windows 11 reached 1 billion users faster than Windows 10, according to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. The software giant hit the milestone during the recent holiday quarter, Nadella said on the company's fiscal Q2, 2026, earnings call.
Windows 11 managed to reach 1 billion users faster than Windows 10 did nearly six years ago, according to The Verge. Nadella stated that Windows 11 was "up over 45 percent year over year."
In other tech news, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the company will discontinue the Model S and Model X in the second quarter of 2026, according to The Verge. Musk made the announcement during an earnings call with investors. No advance warning was given about the cancellations, making it an abrupt ending for Tesla's two original flagship EVs, according to The Verge.
Apple also made news with the official launch of its new Creator Studio subscription bundle, according to Ars Technica. The bundle offers access to a wide range of updated professional apps for $13 a month or $130 a year. Teachers and students can get the same apps for $3 a month, or $30 a year. The bundle includes either access to or enhanced features for a total of 10 Apple apps, though the base versions of several of these are available for free to all Mac and iPad owners, according to Ars Technica. The apps included are: Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Freeform, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage (Mac only).
