Major Fire Forces Evacuation at Courchevel's Grandes Alpes Hotel
A major fire at the Grandes Alpes hotel in Courchevel, France, led to the evacuation of nearly 300 people on Tuesday evening, January 27, 2026. According to Euronews, firefighters were called to the luxury ski resort around 7 p.m. as flames rapidly spread through the roof spaces of the five-star property.
As of Wednesday morning, more than 100 firefighters, supported by approximately 60 vehicles and reinforcements from neighboring departments, were still working to extinguish the blaze, Euronews reported. Four firefighters sustained minor injuries while battling the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
