Windows 11 reached one billion users faster than Windows 10, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced on the company's fiscal Q2 2026 earnings call. The milestone was achieved during the recent holiday quarter, marking a significant achievement for the operating system.
According to The Verge, Windows 11 managed to reach this milestone faster than Windows 10 did nearly six years ago. "Windows reached a big milestone, 1 billion Windows 11 users," Nadella stated. The number of users is up over 45 percent.
In other tech news, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the discontinuation of the Model S and Model X in the second quarter of 2026. The announcement, made during an earnings call with investors, came without prior warning, signaling an abrupt end for Tesla's original flagship electric vehicles, according to The Verge. Factify's Founder and CEO, Matan Gavish, stated that the current software ecosystem for digital documents "hasn't really evolved" and that "someone has to redesign the digital document itself."
