US Rower Completes Solo Atlantic Journey; Airport Security Breach Averted; Timberwolves Address ICE Tensions; Trump Attends Melania Documentary Premiere
A U.S. rower, Taryn Smith, completed her solo journey across the Atlantic Ocean, arriving in Antigua on Thursday morning after 46 days at sea, according to ABC News. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, surveillance footage released by police showed a bystander tackling a TSA breach suspect at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on October 30, 2025, Fox News reported. In Minneapolis, the Minnesota Timberwolves released a statement addressing rising tensions involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), also according to Fox News. In Washington D.C., President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended the premiere of a documentary about the First Lady at the Trump Kennedy Center on Thursday, Fox News reported.
Taryn Smith, 25, embarked on her journey from La Gomera, Spain, and paddled approximately 10 to 12 miles per day to complete the World's Toughest Row. "I really couldn't have done it without all of the support from people back home. So thank you so much for joining me," Smith said, as reported by ABC News. She documented her journey on Instagram.
At Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Fabian Leon, was swiftly subdued after breaching a TSA checkpoint. Leon was later charged with simple battery, according to Fox News.
The Minnesota Timberwolves' statement comes amid heightened tensions and clashes with anti-ICE demonstrators in the Twin Cities, following two fatal incidents involving federal immigration agents in recent weeks, Fox News reported.
Also on Thursday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem addressed calls for her firing amid an aggressive immigration crackdown in Minnesota. "These radicals are attacking me, but I'm just doing my job. I'm following the law, enforcing the laws like President Trump promised that he would do to keep people safe in this country," Noem told "Hannity," according to Fox News. Noem's comments follow the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and another individual, which have sparked controversy.
President Trump and Melania Trump attended the red carpet premiere for the new documentary "MELANIA" at the Trump Kennedy Center. The film, directed by Brett Ratner, chronicles the First Lady's life leading up to Trump's 2025 inauguration, from Trump Tower in New York City to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, and captures behind-the-scenes moments at the White House, Fox News reported.
