Paris-Based Charades Boards Family Thriller "Bloodsuckers"
Paris-based sales company Charades has acquired the rights to "Bloodsuckers," a family thriller produced by the team behind "Midsommar," Variety reported on January 30, 2026. The project will be showcased at the Goteborg Film Festival's Work in Progress (WIP) session and launched at the European Film Market (EFM), according to Variety.
Charades has been active in the entertainment industry, also launching a classics sales label with a Sundance screening of "Half Nelson," starring Ryan Gosling, according to Variety. The company's recent activity also includes involvement with the Rendez-Vous With French Cinema Festival in New York, which unveiled its 2026 lineup, Variety noted.
In other news, BayView Entertainment secured North American distribution rights to vertical video titles from FlareFlow, a microdrama platform operated by COL Group International, Variety reported. This marks the first time the mobile-first content will be available beyond its native app. Kino Lorber acquired the North American rights to Arnaud Desplechin's "Two Pianos," according to Variety.
The entertainment landscape continues to evolve, with HBO Max recognized for its prestige TV and feature-length films, including biopics and documentaries, Variety reported.
