O'Hara's career spanned decades, beginning at Toronto's Second City Theater. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Kevin's mother in the "Home Alone" films and later for her role as the eccentric Moira Rose in the hit television series "Schitt's Creek." In 2020, she won her second career Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on "Schitt's Creek," Sky News reported.
CBS News noted that O'Hara is survived by her husband and two children. Her family is planning a private celebration of life.
