The open-source AI assistant OpenClaw, formerly known as Clawdbot and Moltbot, has garnered significant attention, reaching 180,000 GitHub stars and attracting 2 million visitors in a single week, according to its creator Peter Steinberger. However, this rapid growth has also exposed security vulnerabilities, with researchers discovering over 1,800 exposed instances leaking API keys, chat histories, and account credentials, VentureBeat reported on January 30, 2026.
The rise of agentic AI tools like OpenClaw presents a challenge for enterprise security teams, as these tools often operate outside traditional security perimeters. "When agents run on BYOD hardware, security stacks go blind," VentureBeat noted, highlighting the gap in visibility. This issue is compounded by the fact that many organizations are struggling to govern AI usage effectively.
Informatica's third annual survey, encompassing 600 chief data officers (CDOs) globally, revealed that while 69% of enterprises have deployed generative AI and 47% are running AI pilots, a significant 76% of data leaders cannot govern what employees are already using, according to VentureBeat. This "trust paradox" is hindering the scaling of AI initiatives beyond the experimentation phase. CDOs are now positioned as critical figures in navigating data governance, AI strategy, and workforce readiness, determining whether companies can successfully transition from AI pilots to production scale, VentureBeat stated.
Meanwhile, in other tech news, Nvidia's Shield Android TV, first released in 2015, continues to receive updates, a testament to the company's commitment to long-term support. According to Ars Technica, supporting the Shield has been a "labor of love" for the team at Nvidia. This contrasts with the historical trend of limited update support for Android devices, where users were often "lucky to get more than one or two updates on even the most expensive Android phones and tablets," Ars Technica reported.
Google Workspace is also offering discounts until the end of 2026, allowing users to save up to 14 percent on a plan for their first three months with a promo code, Wired reported. Google Workspace has become a standard productivity suite for businesses, offering tools like Google Docs, Drive, and Gmail, and has been enhanced with AI capabilities through Gemini.
