Arcee, a San Francisco-based AI lab, released its largest open language model to date, Trinity Large, a 400-billion parameter mixture-of-experts (MoE). Alongside this, Arcee also released Trinity-Large-TrueBase, a "raw" checkpoint model, allowing researchers to study the intricacies of a 400B sparse MoE. OpenClaw, the open-source AI assistant, reached 180,000 GitHub stars and drew 2 million visitors in a single week, according to creator Peter Steinberger. Louis Columbus of VentureBeat reported that security researchers found over 1,800 exposed instances leaking API keys, chat histories, and account credentials. This highlights how the grassroots agentic AI movement can become an unmanaged attack surface, often invisible to traditional security tools, especially when agents run on BYOD hardware.
The development of coding agents is also progressing, with developers exploring minimal and opinionated approaches.
