Sherry Cox, Montgomery's aunt, cared for Katlyn's daughter, Milani, while periodically checking in on Katlyn in the hospital. Tina Hopkins, another of Katlyn's aunts, recalled Sherry saying "something was wrong with Katlyn but they didn't know what."
