French Investigators Raid Paris Offices of Elon Musk's X Amid Widening Probe
Paris, France – French investigators raided the Paris offices of Elon Musk's social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, as part of a widening investigation into the company. Prosecutors have also summoned Musk, the platform's billionaire owner, for questioning, according to Sky News.
The investigation, which initially launched last month, now encompasses allegations of the site's complicity in the possession and distribution of child abuse images. It also relates to other unspecified allegations, Sky News reported. Present and past employees, including former chief executive Linda Yaccarino, who left the company last year, were also summoned as witnesses.
The move comes as social media platforms face increasing scrutiny over content moderation and the spread of illegal material. X, under Musk's ownership, has been criticized for its content moderation policies.
