The report criticized "unnecessarily violent and abusive raids" by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump Administration's decision to terminate Haiti's designation for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), an immigration program allowing migrants from countries facing wars or natural disasters to stay in the U.S. temporarily, Time reported. The termination would have affected over 300,000 Haitians. The Trump Administration planned to appeal the injunction, leaving many Haitians fearing the worst.

Domestically, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) industries contributed to a housing crisis in some areas. In Abilene, Texas, a community worker named Mike Prado described the situation as the worst he had ever seen. "The AI plant took all the housing, man, I can't find nothing," one unhoused man told Prado, according to Time.
In a lighter vein, "Dirty Dancing: The Musical," a stage adaptation of the 1987 film, was set to embark on a North American tour, Variety reported. The tour was scheduled to launch in August in Saint Paul, Minn., at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. Additional tour cities and casting details were expected to be announced later.
