Super Bowl LX to Feature Bad Bunny, Sparks Controversy
Super Bowl LX, scheduled for 2026, is already generating buzz, both for its entertainment lineup and the on-field competition. Puerto Rican reggaeton star Bad Bunny and Green Day are slated to perform during the halftime and pregame shows, respectively, a choice that has drawn criticism from some quarters, including former President Donald Trump, according to Fortune. The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots will face off in a rematch of the 2015 Super Bowl, Time reported.
Trump told the New York Post, "I'm anti-them. I think it's a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred," regarding the selection of Bad Bunny. National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell apparently did not consider Trump's sentiments when making the choice, Fortune noted.
The game marks the first Super Bowl where both teams' starting quarterbacks and head coaches are in their first or second season with their respective teams, according to CBS Research, as cited by Time. The Patriots are led by 23-year-old Drake Maye, while the Seahawks are led by 28-year-old Sam Darnold, Time reported. Mike Vrabel coaches the Patriots, and Mike Macdonald coaches the Seahawks.
Super Bowl LX is a rematch of the 2015 game where the Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24 after a last-minute interception of then-Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson on the one-yard line, according to Time.
In other news, White House border czar Tom Homan announced Wednesday that 700 federal immigration agents would leave Minneapolis after a month-long enforcement surge, Time reported. Homan stated that the drawdown was possible due to unprecedented cooperation between federal and local officials, but around 2,000 federal law enforcement officers would remain in the area. "This is smart law enforcement, not less law enforcement," he said, according to Time. The departing agents will be drawn from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Meanwhile, hotel and credit card loyalty programs are focusing on exclusive experiences in 2026, Variety reported. Chase Sapphire cardmembers at Sundance rubbed shoulders with stars such as Alexander Skarsgård and Jenna Ortega and purchased early-access tickets to premieres. Hilton Honors members attended the 2026 Grammy Awards, where they saw performances from Justin Bieber, KATSEYE, Lola Young, Alex Warren, and more live from the Crypto Arena, according to Variety. They also received a three-night stay at The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and an in-room glam appointment.
